Kissan leader seeks compensation

JAMMU, Apr 10: All India Bharatiya Kissan Sangh, state general secretary, Subash Dasgotra today appealed to the Government to sanction adequate compensation to the farmers, who have suffered heavy losses of crops due to recent unseasonal rains.
In a statement, Mr Dasgotra said the farmers all over the Jammu region have suffered badly as their crops were extensively damaged in view of heavy rains. He called upon the Government to hold the survey of damaged crops immediately and sanction relief in their favour.
Mr Dasgotra also demanded release of water in Ranbir canal before Baisakhi festival. However, he regretted that desilting work hasn’t been done properly in the canal.
