Indian anti-tobacco campaigners plead for larger graphic warnings on products

Anti-tobacco activists have called for the Indian government to immediately implement a policy that it agreed in October 2014 to increase graphic images on tobacco packaging from 40% to 85% of a pack’s surface.

Their plea has been spurred by the death of an anti-tobacco campaigner, Sunita Tomar, on 1 April—the same day that the policy was due to take effect.
