Flashback to 1988. Industrialist Vijaypat Singhania, the chairman emeritus, Raymond group, decides to solo fly a single-engine microlight airplane from London to Mumbai.
The journey fraught with risks over an unfriendly terrain witnessed many death-defying moments, but Singhania senior saw them through, as he later recounted, thanks to "an angel in the cockpit".

Years later, he wrote a memoir recounting his trip, aptly titled, An Angel In The Cockpit. The book was dedicated to Ananya, his granddaughter, whose framed picture he carried with him during that journey. Cut to the present.

The angel now appears to have left his side as Ananya, 29, and her three siblings Rasaalika, 26, Tarini, 20 and Raivat Hari, 18, the children of son Madhupati, have dragged the patriarch and the Raymond group to court.

They are demanding their share of the Singhania wealth. Their contention is that their father was out of line in giving away their right to inherit the estate. The case is before the Bombay High Court.
