Rawalpindi, AJK police plan to set up joint check posts

Rawalpindi - City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi held a meeting with senior police officers of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) at his office here on Thursday.
The AJK senior police officers who attended the meeting included SP Bagh Kamran Ali, SP Palandari Jamil Ahmed, DSP Kottli Sattian Waheed Gilani, DSP Muzaffarabad Zafar Ali, DSP Mirpur Mirza Zahid and DSP Rawalakot Muhammad Salim.
During the meeting the plan of establishing joint check posts between Rawalpindi and AJK to curb car theft came under discussion. Similarly, the police officers also decided to hammer out a comprehensive mechanism to round up the proclaimed offenders taking refuge in AJK.
Addressing the meeting, the CPO said that the placement of joint check posts between AJK and Rawalpindi would help control crime rate. He said that CCTV cameras would also installed on all the check posts in Rawalpindi to monitor the movements of criminals.
On the other hand, police following the instructions of CPO conducted search operation within the limits of Police Station RA Bazaar and its surroundings, informed police spokesman. Police have booked two arms dealers on account of selling arms and ammunition without licenses and seized huge cache of weapons. According to details, PS City officials raided at Muslim Arms Company at Liaquat Road selling the arms without official license. Police have also recovered six riffles of 7mm, six riffles of 44 bore, two riffles of 222 bore and two riffles of 12 bore and 8mm.
Similarly, police also raided at Mushtaq and Brothers and took into custody three riffles of 44 bore, one riffle of 7mm, three repeaters and 700 bullets. Police registered cases under 131 2(a) PAO 2015 and arrested the owners.
Meanwhile, the police have assigned Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) the task to launch fresh probe into murder case of a 28-year-old man who was allegedly murdered by his business partner in August 2014, reliable sources informed The Nation on Thursday.
The murder case would now be probed by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Malik Irshad of CIA, sources said. This decision was taken by police on application of Mumtaz Malik, the mother of deceased, who had appeared before former Regional Police Officer (RPO) Umar Akhtar Hayyat Lalayka asking him to change the investigations of murder case of her son.
According to sources, a police party of Morgah police station during patrolling found the dead body of the deceased namely Malik Ahsan Ameer Alam on August 28, 2014 from bushes at Gulistan Colony. The man was shot and dead by unknown killers. A case was registered with PS Morgah whereas Sub Inspector Rehan was appointed as investigation officer of the blind murder case. During investigation it came to light that a man Khurram alias Fazeel Arbaz along with her wife Nighat killed Ahsan on monetary issue within the limits of PS Naseerabad and threw his dead body at Gulistan Colony. SI Rehan arrested the killers but later gave them a clean chit, the sources said.
The DSP CIA, when contacted, confirmed the development, saying he would launch impartial inquiry into the murder case and fix the killers without any indiscrimination.
