Ayroor Sadasivan killed in accident

: Veteran musician and playback singer Ayroor Sadasivan was killed in a car accident on the Alappuzha-Changanassery Road at Manackachira on Thursday. He was 78. His son who was driving the car has been admitted to the Kottayam Government Medical college hospital with serious injuries.

The police said the accident occurred when Mr. Sadasivan was returning home after taking part in a programme at Angamali.

His son, who was at the wheel, lost control of the vehicle, which hit a crash barrier and plunged into the AC Canal.

Though they were rushed to the NSS Medical Mission Hospital at Perunna, Mr. Sadasivan succumbed to his injuries. Mr. Sadasivan, a widower, leaves behind two sons.
