Ayiroor Sadasivan killed in accident

Playback singer and music director Ayiroor Sadasivan (78) was killed and his son Sreekumar injured in an accident at Manackachira on Alappuzha-Changanassery Road on Thursday morning.

Alappuzha: Playback singer and music director Ayiroor Sadasivan (78) was killed and his son Sreekumar injured in an accident at Manackachira on Alappuzha-Changanassery Road on Thursday morning.
Changanassery police said the incident took place around 7.45am when the car they were travelling in careened into a paddy field near Onnam bridge at Manackachira.
"The car which was driven by Sreekumar went out of control, hit the crash barrier of the bridge and fell into the paddy field as they were returning to Ayiroor after attending a programme at Angamaly," a police official said.

Police and local residents pulled them out of the car and rushed the two to the hospital, but Sadasivan succumbed to injuries, police said. Sreekumar, who suffered only minor injuries, was admitted to a private hospital at Changanassery.
Sadasivan's body was handed over to his kin after medical examination at Changanassery government hospital. He has another son, Sreelal. His wife had passed away earlier.
A native of Ayiroor near Adoor in Pathanamthitta district, Ayiroor Sadasivan had several hit songs in Malayalam to his credit.
He began his career as a singer in drama troupes with composer Arjunan Master before working in the Malayalam movie industry.
He has teamed up with veteran music directors like G Devarajan and Dakshinamoorthy. 'Amme Amme Aviduthe Munpil', 'Sreevalsam maaril' are some of his evergreen hits.
