William Grant appoints North American president

Liquor supplier William Grant & Sons has expanded the role of its US unit head to include the Canadian market. Jonathan Yusen, who became president and managing director of William Grant & Sons US two years ago has been promoted to president and managing director for North America.

Yusen, who replaced current COO Simon Hunt, who assumed the role in 2013, will also take over the Canadian leadership from him. The US and Asia will also be added to his remit and he will sit on the company’s executive board.

A company statement said: “Hunt will expand his role with responsibility for all global markets.”

William Grant CEO Stella David added: “The creation of our branded business unit in 2013 has allowed us to sharpen our brand-building approach along with our global commercial capabilities. Now is the time to move into the next phase of what we started.

“I’m confident that these expanded roles and responsibilities will continue to enhance our performance and ways of working across the group.”

Yusen joined the company as marketing vice-president for the US in 2008. Mexcio and Canada became part of his remit in 2009. He became general manager for Canada in 2012 before moving to the US.
