‘Take steps to avoid water crisis in Hassan’

Mohammed Mohsin, Commissioner of Public Instruction, and Secretary in charge of Hassan, here on Wednesday, directed the district administration to take necessary steps to avoid drinking water crisis in the summer.

He has asked the officers concerned to identify the problematic villages and make alternative arrangements for providing drinking water.

Reviewing the progress in developmental works, the official told the administration to complete all pending works related to drinking water supply. The officials in charge of rural water supply and Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Company should cooperate with each other and work in tandem so that drinking water reaches all areas.

The State government released Rs. 88 crore last year for drinking water works, besides funds provided through taluk-level task forces, he added.
