A woman was attacked by a wild bison at Honnatti-Hosur village in Bhadravathi taluk on Wednesday. The incident occurred when Manjulamma was on her way to her paddy field on the outskirts of the village. She was immediately admitted to a hospital in Bhadravathi and her condition is said to be stable. The animal may have strayed into the village from the nearby Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary. Forest officials fired tranquilizer darts at the animal and then released it into the sanctuary. On Tuesday, the animal had entered Gondi and Aralikoppa villages.
