Adbi Kunj pays tribute to Sarthi on 82nd birth anniversary

JAMMU, Apr 8: Adbi Kunj, a multilingual literary organization in collaboration with Sarathikala Niketan Trust organized a special programme to pay tributes to Gurudev OP Sharma “Sarthi”, a multilingual literary and spiritual personality and founder and guide of the organization, on his 82nd birth anniversary here at KL Sehgal hall.
Shri Chatrpal, a noted writer and president, Dogri Sanstha Jammu, presided over the function while Surinder Singh Seerat, a renowned Punjabi poet and one of the disciples of Sarthi ji, was the chief guest.
Dr Raj Kumar Sharma, a renowned writer, poet and critic of Hindi world and Prithvi Raj Sharma, a renowned musician and younger brother of Sarthi ji were present in the function as guests of honour.
On this occasion, Hindi translation of Sarathi’s Punjabi novel “Rankhetra” by Parveen Sharma was released.
Speaking on the occasion, Seerat threw light on different aspects of Sarthi’s personality while Dr Raj Kumar Sharma highlighted contribution of Sarthi to Indian literature and other art forms.
Paying tributes to Sarthi ji, Chatrpal described him as a legendary literature and lover of mankind. Sham Talib also highlighted the contribution of Sarthi on the making and upliftment of the Adbi Kunj.
A paper on Punjabi novel written by Parveen Sharma was presented by Kapil Anirudh while other papers were read by Chanchal Bhasin and Taiyab Bharti.
In the second session, a multilingual Mushaira was held and poets of Hindi, Dogri, Punjabi and Urdu paid their tributes to Sarthi Ji through their poetry. The poets who presented their poems were Maharaj Krishan, Taiyab Bharti, Aarash Om Dalmotra, Fozia Moughal Zia, Ved Uppal, Parveen Sharma, Raj Pal Singh Mastana, Om Parkash Bhoria, Ajay Bharti, Suraj Mirpuri, Rekha Sharma and Sham Talib.
The function concluded with the vote of thanks by Aarash Om Dalmotra, Chairman of Adbi Kunj while Kapil Anirudh conducted the proceedings of the programme.
