MLS giants pushing for Muntari move

Ghana international Sulley Muntari is being courted by a number of Major League Soccer clubs including Los Angeles FC, New York Red Bulls and LA Galaxy, with one year still left on his current AC Milan contract.

The 30-year-old midfielder is having a torrid time at San Siro in the second term of the Serie A and has failed to make the 18-man squad of the Rossoneri in their last four games.

Muntari did not travel with Juventus for their recent 2-1 win in Palermo, with his agent revealing that his client's absence was by mutual consent.

The Ghanaian has been told that he is not in Milan's plans for next season, and he has requested not be selected as they play out the remaining nine games in the Serie A.

The former Udinese, Portsmouth and Inter Milan player has been linked with a move to Los Angeles FC this June but Italian Sports tabloid La Gazzetta dello Sport, on Tuesday revealed that two other Major Soccer League sides New York Red Bulls and Los Angeles Galaxy are showing strong interest in the midfielder, with his representative set to open talks with the teams soon.

Muntari is also on the radar of Lazio who are in line for a European finish this season, according to reports.

Back home, the midfielder is on suspension from the Black Stars and must make an official apology before he could be called back into the team.

He joined Milan from city rivals Inter in 2012 and has netted 9 goals in 69 appearances.
