Freemasons Donate 138k For Vanuatu Cyclone Relief

The United Kingdom (UK) Freemasons have joined together to provide aid for the people of Vanuatu totalling £45,000 ($FJ138, 000).

The Freemasons’ Grand Charity donated £20,000 ($61,000) following the aftermath of Severe Tropical Cyclone Pam via the British Red Cross.

The contribution would be used towards delivering water, sanitation, health and shelter for cyclone victims.

The Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons, also based in the UK, donated £25,000 ($FJ77, 000) to the Lodge of Discovery, to assist with an essential community infrastructure project.

Speaking about the donation Nigel Brown, grand secretary of the United Grand Lodge of England said: “Freemasons across the UK have joined together to help the people of Vanuatu. Know that we are thinking of you at this difficult time. Natural disasters such as the cyclone that recently hit Vanuatu are life shattering. It is hoped that this £45,000 will go someway to repairing the lives of those affected.”
