Thane watchman held for raping two minor girls
The Thane police have arrested a 42-year-old watchman for allegedly raping two minor girls at his residence. Datta Indulkar called the two girls, aged 7 and 11, on different occasions in the last four days to his house in Kolshet on the pretext of allowing them to watch television.
RK Gaikwad, sub-inspector, Kapurbawdi police station, said: “Indulkar then locked the house from inside and raped the girls, who lived in his neighbourhood, at knife-point.” He also threatened the girls with dire consequences if they informed about the offence to anybody, Gaikwad added.
Senior police inspector Sushil Kadam said, “One of the victims was raped a month ago while the other was raped four days ago.”
The police have booked Indulkar under IPC sections 376 (rape), 354 (molestation), 363 (kidnapping), 341 (wrongful restraint), 504 and 506 (criminal intimidation) and also sections 4 and 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. MMB

The victims narrated their ordeal to their respective families following which they lodged a complaint on Monday.
