Pvt school fee: Govt seeks 6 weeks to draw up norms

JABALPUR: State government is preparing guidelines for regulating fee private schools charge in the state, government informed Madhya Pradesh high court (MPHC).
Double bench of Madhya Pradesh high court comprising Justice Rajendra Menon and Justice S C Gangele on Tuesday gave government six weeks' time to make guidelines after it sought time to do so.
The next date of the hearing has been scheduled on June 26 and the government has been ordered to prepare guidelines by June 18.

Petitioner Nagrik Upbhokta Manch in earlier petitions told court that private schools are charging arbitrary fee from parents and no such forum is available in the state where aggrieved parents can complain about matter.
Earlier, during hearing on the petition, state government told the court it was preparing to form a fee regulatory commission, headed by retired justice, for private schools. But when it was not constituted, the petitioner filed a contempt petition and during earlier hearing, the state government told the court that it was not considering constituting such commission.
