Dingle Oceanworld is noted for its amazing sea-life and of course, by now celebrity, penguins.

However some new additions promise to shake things up this Easter weekend as Mara Beo unveils a new exhibit entitled Creepy Crawlies.

"The new exhibit which opens this weekend includes scorpions, tarantulas, Giant African snails, millipedes as well as geckos and features 10 species from around the globe," Máire Treasa Uí Shé of Dingle Oceanworld explained.

According to Máire Treasa, this new exhibition has an important message and an educational purpose concerning insects, arachnids and invertebrates.

"Insects are the most numerous animals on earth ... and are very important for humanity and the animal kingdom's survival. Many of these species are threatened and are in danger of extinction," she said.

"We are delighted to be able to showcase our new 'Creepy Crawlies - plus our special guests, the vulnerable Standing Day Gecko - which is here on a breeding programme."
