There are many accolades coming Vira Sathidar���s way, the actor who has made a debut in Marathi film industry with National Award winning film ���Court���.
One wonders, how did he land the role of an activist in the film. To this, Vira replied: ���I got a call in January 2013 from the production house. It was a bolt from the blue because I has no contact whatsoever with anyone in the film industry till then.
My friends tried to dissuade from accepting the offer, but I told them that I had to try this experience.��� But the man had garnered theatre experience much earlier. ���As a union leader, I used to do nukkad natak and small skits to attract the crowds in workers��� colony and then I would give my bhashan, to make them stay till the end. So, for me, the reel experience was an extension of my real life. And working with young director Chaitanya Tamhane and a warm, young cast, I have found friends for life.���
After the mammoth honours collected by his film, Vira is getting a lot of offers to act. He confessed: ���The casting director of our film told me recently that he���s getting calls from a lot of people, who want to cast me in their films. But, there is nothing concrete yet and I���m not in a hurry either.���
And has life changed for him, post his maiden acting stint? Vira replied with a laugh: ���I���m still a struggler, fighting for class equality. But yes, it feels good when people appreciate my acting acumen.���
