Religious fervour marked performance of Brahmotsavam at Harihara Kshetram at Chimakurthy, near here, on Monday.

Vedic priests under the guidance of Visakha Saradha Peetam pontiff Swaroopanandendra Saraswathi performed elaborate rituals associated with the purification ceremony at the temple dedicated to Lord Venkateswara and Lord Siva.

Transport Minister Sidda Raghava Rao and his wife Sidda Lakshmi Padmavati led the celebrations at the temple comprising shrines also for Lord Ganesha, Lord Ayyappa and Lord Hanuman. The seer exhorted the devotees to compulsorily perform the annual Brahmotsavam at every temple for the well-being of the society.
