Post MPSC success, this ‘Pardeshi fan’ aims at cracking UPSC

Vishal Sakore of Bhosari has topped MPSC in OBC category.

Working relentlessly for people is the passion that drives thise engineer-turned-civil-servant. And for that he draws inspiration from the work of “IAS officers like Shrikar Pardeshi”. Vishal Sakore of Bhosari, who topped the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) Examinations in the OBC category, says, “The way Shrikar Pardeshi worked in Pimpri-Chinchwad as municipal commissioner inspired me a lot. I closely observed the way he went about his job despite stiff opposition.”

Initially, Vishal’s father, an assistant police sub-inspector, was his first inspiration. “First, it was my father who inspired me. However in the later days, IAS officers like Dr Shrikar Pardeshi who worked for the public become my idols,” he said.

Asked if he felt the frequent transfers Pardeshi was subjected to would work as a dampener, Vishal said, “When you want to undertake good work, you will have to face resistance. But that should not stop you from working for the people.”

Vishal attributes his success to the hard work he had put in. A long time resident of Bhosari, Vishal used to study for 8-9 hours per day for his examination and wishes to take up implementation of citizen’s charter and e-governance in the government offices.

An engineer, Sakore had worked for 3-4 years post his graduation in 200”. “I started my preparation since 2009. Post engineering I had to take up the job for various reasons although cracking the public service examinations was my long standing go”l,” he said. Sakore has been preparing for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examinations and hopes to crack it.

As an officer, Vishal wants to implement various public initiatives the government has taken up. In particular he wants to implement e-governance and make the government interface more people-friendly — the plans which Shrikar Pardeshi implemented rigorously in Pimpri-Chinchwad.
