4 Bills withdrawn, one defeated in LC

JAMMU, Apr 6: As many as five Private Members Bills were presented in Legislative Council today for discussion, out of these, 4 were withdrawn while one was defeated by voice vote.
The Bill to amend J&K Electricity Act 2010 and a Bill to amend the J&K Code of Criminal Procedure Samvat 1989, moved by Naresh Kumar Gupta were withdrawn by the Member after receiving assurance from the Government. A Bill to amend the Grant of Permanent Residential Certificate (PRC) Act 1963 and a Bill to repeal the Enemy Agents Ordinance Samvat 2005 (1948 AD) moved by Dr. Bashir Ahmed Veeri were withdrawn by the Member after getting assurance from the Government.
The Bill to amend the Ranbir Pannel Code Samvat 1989 moved by Dr. Shehnaz Ganai was defeated by voice vote after the member pressed for it.
