Homeless woman arrested for ‘kidnapping’ minor

“The Kherwadi police had registered a case of a missing minor, Aamir Mansoori, on April 1 after the parents could not find their child. The parents told the Kherwadi police in their complaint that Aamir was last seen playing outside their residence in a slum of the Western Express Highway,” said Bajirao Kanartre, senior police inspector, Nalasopara police.

Kanartre said that the police acted on a tip off that they received late on Sunday evening that a woman was sighted with the description of the child.

“When we picked up Shinde , it was evident that she was mentally unstable and was also seen with a her own 4-year-old son,” Kanartre said.

Police said that Shinde was in the area to visit her mother “There appears to be no motive for the kidnapping, Shinde’s mother also said that her daughter is mentally unstable. However, we have still registered a case against the accused,” Kanartre added.
