Commissioner to probe Purnia DM-CS row

PURNIA: As the row over Purnia district magistrate (DM ) and civil surgeon continues unabated, principal secretary, health, Brijesh Mehrotra has asked the Purnia divisional commissioner, Sudhir Kumar, to probe the incident and submit his report within two weeks.
BHSA (Bihar Health Service Association) state general secretary Ajay Kumar said the ongoing controversy involving DM Rajesh Kumar and CS SN Jha practically overshadowed the deliberations of BHSA at its state- level meeting in Patna on Sunday.
Mehrotra and additional secretary, health, Anand Kishore, who attended the BHSA’s state-level meeting in Patna on Sunday, were apprised of the controversy. At the end of the meeting, Mehrotra, who was the chief guest of the function, said the Purnia divisional commissioner has already been asked to probe the matter, said BHSA general secretary.
The BHSA, which also called for immediate removal of the Purnia DM, also stressed the need for disengaging the DMs from health services across the state, Dr Ajay said. He said the health department top-brass gave a patient hearing.
