CM explains importance of organic farming to people in Dahod forests

Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today said that Gujarat Government was keen to help people living in the forest areas to cultivate vermin-culture, alongside producing minor forest produces, to augment their income and lead a better life.

Addressing the members of Vateda-Andhari Van Mandali and Sahbhagi Van Vyavastha Samiti in the remote forest areas of Dahod district, she explained the importance of compost manure with the help of worms, particularly in the growing demand for growing demand for organic farming produces.

The Chief Minister encouraged women members to take benefit of number of government’s schemes for women’s empowerment. She also asked them to create mass awareness against additions and free the society from additions.

She asked the Forest Department to ensure the benefits of the schemes and the money reached the target groups. She asked the Department to provide toilet in every home of Van Mandali and Sahbhagi Vas Vyavastha Samiti in the forest areas.

Mrs. Patel was accompanied by District’s In-charge and Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasma, Minister of State for Forest Bachubhai Khabad, MP Jashwantsinh Bhabhor, office-bearers and administrative officers.
