Nairobi: The Kenyan Interior Ministry has named an al Shabaab commander as the mastermind of the deadly assault on Garissa University attack and put a bounty worth 20 million Kenyan shillings on his head.

The deadly siege last Thursday on Garissa University attack was claimed by al Shabaab, which an al Qaeda linked terrorist group. The siege that went on for 16 hours, ened up killing 148.

According to Kenyan interior ministry, an al Shabaab commander named Mohamed Mohamud alias Gamadhere masterminded the attack on the university campus in Garissa.

Issuing out a notice, the Kenyan interior ministry branded Gamadhere as 'Most Wanted' terrorist, offering a bounty worth 20 million Kenyan shillings, that is, $215,000 on his head.

 

Earlier, Kenya's Interior Ministry identified another gunman involved in the Garissa University College attack as a law graduate named Abdirahim Abdullahi, who is the son of Abdullahi Daqare, a government official, reported the CNN.

Abdullahi, who is missing since 2013, graduated in the same year from Nairobi University law school and worked for a bank for two months before disappearing, his father, chief in Mandera in northern Kenya, told the CNN.
