Loganathan (35) of Melpadappai, working as a teacher in a middle school at Sorappanancheri near Padappai, was arrested on Friday night for the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl student.
According to police, the accused reportedly made the Standard VII student remain in the classroom after school hours on the pretext of taking special class. On noticing the girl stressed and coming home late , her parents inquired her and came to know of the assault.
Subsequently, the girl’s father lodged a complaint at the All Women Police Station, Sriperumpudur. The police collected evidence of the crime and arrested the accused on Friday night.
