KRRS pickets MP’s residence seeking withdrawal of Bill

Activists of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) on Saturday picketed the residence of Suresh C. Angadi, MP, demanding that he prevail upon the Union government to withdraw the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.

They took out a procession from Rani Channamma Circle to the Mr. Suresh’s residence at Sampige Road.

Mr. Angadi, while responding to the demand, said he would convey their views to the Ministry.

The Raitha Krishikarmikara Sanghatane (RKS) has announced a rally in Bengaluru on April 9 in protest against the amendment to the Act.

RKS activists led by district convener Laxman Jadgannavar took out a mobile awareness campaign here.

Farmers and labourers from 20 districts of the State would participate in the rally, Mr. Jadgannavar said.
