Yenepoya Medical College to organise health camp

The Yenepoya Medical College Hospital in Deralakatte will organise health check-up camp, between April 6 and April 11, for lifestyle disease. During the camp, investigations, namely blood grouping, urine analysis, ECG, will be done free of cost while tests namely lipid profile, X-Ray(chest), USG(Abdomen & Pelvis), ECHO and TMT will be done with a 50 per cent discount.

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan will be taking part in the 10th Swachh Mangaluru programme organised by the Ramakrishna Mission as a part of Swachh Bharat campaign on Sunday. The programme will be held near Circuit House at 7.15 a.m. State BJP President Prahlad Joshi, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLC Captain Ganesh Karnik will be taking part in the programme.

I.T. Sethuraman, Deputy General Manager, in the Syndicate Bank’s Mangaluru Regional Branch, was felicitated on Saturday as he retired after serving the bank for 39 years. Deputy General Manager from Bank’s Hubballi zone Ravindranath Shetty and Deputy General Manager from Udupi Zone Bharame Gowder participated in the function.

The District Youth Congress will be holding rally on April 18 from Urwa Stores to Surathkal as a mark of protest against the Central government’s Land Ordinance that has received the President’s assent. MLA J.R. Lobo and MLC Ivan D’Souza said the ordinance was against farmer and has made it easy for corporates to acquire agricultural lands.

Residents of Jokatte and other neighboring areas under the flagship of Nagarika Horata Samiti will be stage a protest before the MRPL gate when the Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan visits the unit on Sunday. The residents will be protesting seeking action against the firm for alleged pollution caused by coke and sulphur recover units in MRPL Phase 3.

Nityotsava, a literary session by Mangalore University’s SVP Kannada Adhyana Kendra, will be held at the Mangala auditorium on April 7. Poet K.S. Nissar Ahmed will be inaugurating the event and critic Narahalli Balasubramanya will be participating in the programme.
