M.P. Parameswaran selected for award

M.P. Parameswaran, nuclear engineer, science contributor, and educationalist has been selected for the C.K. Jeevan Memorial Award 2014-15 for his lifetime contribution to the popularisation of science using Malayalam.

The award, instituted by the C.K. Jeevan Memorial Trust, comprises a purse of Rs.10,001 and a citation. The award would be presented to Dr. Parameswaran at a function to be organised by April end, managing trustee Dejo Kappan and secretary Kurian K. Thomas said.

A committee comprising educationalist R.V.G. Menon, former Vice Chancellor B. Ekbal, and Achuthsankar S. Nair, Head, Department of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, University of Kerala, chose the recipient.

Litterateur N.S. Madhavan and journalist Sashi Kumar received the award in 2011 and 2012 respectively.
