Kendriya Vidyalaya to stop the recruitment of principals due to confusion

The candidates sitting for the Kendriya Vidyalaya principal post for the 90 posts offered have criticised the authorities after it conducted the exam just 18 days after the online registration and during the period of the commencement of the CBSE board examination. The teachers association of the Kendriya Vidyalaya has also alleged that this is a violation of the recruitment rules framed by the authorities as the association had already recruited 140 principals prior to the advertisement.

The KV Pragatisheel Shikshak Sangh (KVPSS) has also given a petition to the Ministry of Human Resource Development on Wednesday to intervene and stop all fresh appointments, transfer and promotion until a new commission comes into account and takes charge. According to the TOI, the present commissioner has been accused of irregularities in recruitment, promotion and postings of staff in KVS.

The online application forms for the post of deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners and principals opened on February 21 and closed down at March 23. The association had scheduled the date for April 11. The post for commissioner has however, been started once again and will end on may 15 with the written exam to be scheduled on June 19.

No one holds any opinion as to how this process of selection started so soon with so few days at hand between the selection process and the submission of the form. The authorities have also said to the media that with 140 principals just recruited there seems to be no need of any more at this point of time.

The KVPSS has sent a deputation to the HRD ministry requesting the authorities to restrict the power of the present KVS commission, Avinash Dikshit until the matter is resolved.
