Mickey Harte may miss Tyrone’s crucial game with Kerry following operation

Manager underwent surgical procedure on Monday and is recovering at home

Tyrone manager Mickey Harte may be missing from the sideline during Sunday's crucial league fixture against All-Ireland champions Kerry. The long-serving Harte had an operation earlier this week but will resume team duties shortly.

A statement from the Tyrone county board confirmed the news, which initially emerged in Gaelic Life magazine to the effect that the manager had missed training during due to health reasons.

“Tyrone senior football manager Mickey Harte underwent a surgical procedure on Monday and is now recovering at home,” ran the statement. “He will resume his managerial duties with the senior football team in the very near future.

“Coiste Contae Thír Eoghain, the players and backroom team wish Mickey a speedy recovery.”

Meanwhile Dublin manager Jim Gavin has released a team for Sunday's trip to Clones to take on Monaghan showing just one change to the line-up that started last week's reviled win over Derry. All Star James McCarthy is named at right wing back with Jonny Cooper moving back to right corner back in place of Philip McMahon.
