During a March 24 lottery for selection of 19,000 Haj pilgrims, the 'alphabetical' order for districts began with Kannauj followed by the remaining districts-Agra, Aligarh, Badaun etc.

It seems Kannauj, the parliamentary constituency of CM Akhilesh Yadav's wife Dimple Yadav, is at the top of Uttar Pradesh's priority list among 75 districts. During a March 24 lottery for selection of 19,000 Haj pilgrims, the 'alphabetical' order for districts began with Kannauj followed by the remaining districts-Agra, Aligarh, Badaun etc. The Haj Committee of India's function was presided over by Akhilesh Yadav.
