DARBHANGA: Former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi on Thursday said he was removed from the CM post by Nitish Kumar without any show-cause notice though the natural practice is that even its done even in the case of a grade IV employee.
Addressing a division-level Garib Swabhiman Sammelan at Polo ground where women outnumbered men, Manjhi said my answer to any such show-cause notice would have resulted in disclosure of many wrong doings by Nitish and his coterie.
"When I realized the wrongdoings getting committed by me, I stopped signing the proposals being sent to me. The moment I indicated that enough is enough, I was removed," Manjhi said.
Citing an instance, Manjhi said money changed hands during transfers and postings of bureaucrats and technocrats proposed before him for clearance. Earlier he could not realize this game being played behind him. But when he became aware of this practice and declined to sign on dotted lines, he was removed. During the last week before he resigned as CM, his cabinet took many decisions for the welfare of unemployed youths, minorities and the downtrodden sections of the society like appointment of Urdu teachers in all degree colleges, provision of computer teachings in madrassas, reservation for the poor in contracts, increasing monthly salary of midday meal cooks, Mamta and Asha workers.
Large number of audience waited for four hours to hear him. Others who spoke on the occasion were Nitish Mishra, Narendra Singh, Brishen Patel, Shakuni Chaudhary, Shahid Ali Khan and Mahachandra Singh. The meeting was presided over by former MP Devendra Prasad Yadav.
