flydubai records USD68m net profit for 2014


(MENAFN) flydubai, the emirate low-cost airline, registered USD68 million net profit for 2014, marking a 12.3 percent increase compared to 2013, Arabian Business reported.

Additionally, the firm announced posting total revenue of around USD1.19 billion for the previous year, with traffic passengers amounting to 7.25 million.

The carrier also announced increasing travel routes to Africa by 14 percent, Central Asia by 57 percent and Europe with 11 percent. Presently, flydubai plans to initiate in-flight ads to increase revenue.

"Currently, we do not have any in-flight advertisements. We are looking at it," flydubai's senior vice president said in a statement, adding that the carrier ordered 111 new aircrafts.
