Cricket betting racket: Owner of farmhouse granted bail
VADODARA: Jitesh Shah, owner of the farmhouse where international cricket betting racket worth crores was busted, was granted bail on Wednesday by the city police. Shah was arrested by the cops on Tuesday near Valsad when he was returning from Mumbai. He was booked by the Kishanwadi police on March 19 for flouting police notification that mandates the owner to give details of the tenants to the cops.
Shah hadn't informed the police that he had rented his property to Ahmedabad residents whose names have cropped up in the cricket betting case. He was given bail at the police station on Wednesday. The Enforcement Directorate had busted the betting racket on March 19 at Shah's farmhouse in Waghodia area. While 15 persons were arrested in the case, Shah had gone missing after he was booked under section 188. He has claimed that he doesn't know any of the bookies.
