KARACHI: Day Two of the ongoing four-day Telenor Fashion Pakistan Week S/S 15 opened with popular menswear label Amir Adnan showing Shahzaday which created a sense of excitement on the ramp with princely aesthetics.

Crafted in Jamawar and other regal fabrics with Jaipur paisley motifs, the line comprising jackets, waistcoats, kurtas and sherwanis was crafted in rich tones such as emerald green, peacock blue, ruby red and more.

Sanam Chaudhri chose to show Zingara with jewellery by Sheherzade and shoes by Nine West. The collection was essentially about cutwork embroidery patterns bearing floral impressions and provided respite and freedom from existing style trends and introduced new concepts in popular trends that were light, breezy and very, very summery and with a diverse colour palette fused with beige.

Jafferjees introduced retro chic, textures and patterns in fine leather crafts. The fashion presentation by Nubain Ali and Wardha Saleem saw sphere/bubble patterns in stark contrasts, two-tone ladies handbags, ’70s retro chic bags with oversize tassels, classic studded men’s briefcases, fashionable oversize handbags for women, pillbox clutches and classic evening slings.

Defined as uptown, contemporary with sleek cuts, Abdul Samad opened with a somewhat backless menswear jacket worn by Zurain Iman and graduated to two-tone jackets in classic combos of black-and-white, performer and dance guru Hasan Zaidi of BodyBeat making a more personal style statement in a front-back reverse outfit and singer Shehzad Roy in a silk turquoise two piece.

Zaheer Abbas was inspired by Boticelli’s masterpiece Primavera to create a line that was all white, flowy with puritanical cuts and play on sheer volume. The classic silhouettes featured the timeless appeal of gold on white, flora and fauna oversize prints, and chalked out a definite direction for the designer for all future endeavours in design and style.

Caanchi & Lughari chose to show Buggatti, high street menswear from fashion capitals such as London, Paris and Milan. Gul Ahmed’s Avanti was about tradition and modernity, luxury and classic cuts.

Finally, Dominion Matrix Decoded by Fahad Hussayn was about a mythical dominion and luxurious blend of ready to wear and couture. The opening featured an elaborate headdress worn by the model with a matte gold braided top on white followed by the variations of the same all played out to powerful music and dramatic sound effects, a signature style of the designer. A lime green and beige line led to another heavily sculpted short dress with intricate embroidery giving an almost armoured look. Corsets and a more cheerful floral theme in pastels followed with a full-on bling effect before the showstopper piece in golden beige. Stunning to say the very least.

Day Three of TFPW S/S 15 designers are Body Focus Museum, Levi’s, Somal Halepoto, YBQ, Wardha Saleem, Saniya Maskatiya for Al-Karam, Inaaya and HSY. Sonya Battla, Rizwanullah for Fifth Element Sawarovski, Daaman, Zara Shahjahan, Deepak Perwani, Aamna Aqeel and Shamaeel Ansari will feature on Day Four.
