If Chennai fish Chanakya is as clairvoyant as his minders are claiming he is, then India will take a further step in the ‘Won’t give it back’ hype campaign by defeating Australia in the semi finals on Thursday.
So, it turns out that during his latest divination, clairvoyant Chanakya bobbed his bulbous orange head at a plastic tricolour floating placidly in his tank, next to an Australian flag. And twice at that.
Our special fish has not got it wrong even once, over the five times he predicted the outcome of a match in the ongoing World Cup. He apparently chose New Zealand over South Africa, never mind Duckworth-Lewis. A social sector NGO discovered Chanakya, the distant freshwater descendant of Octopus Paul, who was generally acknowledged as the father of them all aqua clairvoyants after his success in the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
If Chanakya gets it right again, may he bob for India in his final divination this World Cup. Then, when all is done, and the last ball played, we can at least tell our children, ‘A Chennai fish tried.’
