‘Police play vital role in development of society’

Adilabad Superintendent of Police Tarun Joshi on Wednesday called upon policemen in the district to dedicate themselves to public service.

He said police had a role to play in development of different segments of society.

Reviewing the crime situation at a crime meeting here, the SP asked police officers to improve the quality of policy to control offences. He said the police should provide adequate protection to women and control property offences and Maoist activities in respective jurisdictions.

Talking about the welfare programmes of his department, Mr. Joshi elaborated about the Police Mee Kosam programme. This programme incorporates free medical camps and distribution of sports kits to youths in rural areas, he said.
