Dhanesh Dogra is Best Actor, Gurmeet Kour Best Actress

JAMMU, Mar 25: Dhanesh Dogra and Gurmeet Kour have been awarded as Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively as Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages announced the results of the annual Drama Festival.
According to a release, the Jury has recommended the various awards to the groups and in individual categories. Gurmeet Kour has been awarded as Best Director and Best Actress for her role as Gandhari and Dhanesh Dogra as Best actor for his role as Dhritrashtra in the play Komal Gandhar.
Best Set has been awarded to Shalini Sharma for the play ‘The Last Seance while Best Lights has been awarded to Juned Kak for the play Komal Gandhar. Best make-up and Best costumes have been awarded to Shami Dameer and Ravinder Sharma respectively for the play Andha Yug. Best Music has been awarded to Abhishek Bharti for the play Last Colony while Mega Ajanbi has been awarded as Best Child Artist for the play Sandhya Chhayya. Shadi Lal Koul as Bushan Lal for the play Local Tax Extra and Sapna Soni as Kasturaba for the play Adalat Mein Gandhi have been awarded 2nd best actor and actress respectively.
In the consolation category Sonia Dhamir and Abhishek Bharti have been awarded in Makeup and direction category, respectively while Sonia Dubey has been awarded in Costumes for the play “The Last Colony” and Himanshu Darshan has been awarded in music for the play The Last Séance.
The merit certificates in acting have been awarded to Kanika Sharma as Gandhari , Vishal Singh as Ashwathama for the play Andha Yug, Inderjeet Singh as Jogi, Parul as Mubeen for the play Dukh Darya, Farooq Sheikh as Malik, Meenal Peer as Usha for the play Local Tax Extra, Aaditya Bharti as Chorus-1 Neha Bhat as Chorus-2 for the play Last Colony, JR Sagar as Mahatma Gandhi, Deepak Sharma as Hari Lal Gandhi for the play Adalat Mein Gandhi, Archana Sharma as Laxmi, Sahiba as Champa for the play Sakha Ram Binder, Raj Bhagat as Devdas, Neha Raj Dabia as Paro for the play The Last Séance, Meenu Sharma as Nani, Rakesh Mayus as Mhadu for the play Sandhya Chhayya, Dharambeer Choudhary as Prem Singh, Javed Gill as Mushtaq, Som Nath Azad as Hawaldar for the play Kandyali Taar, Dilshad Ahmed as Nawab, Anoop Goswami as Boota for the play Wattan Fry, Pardeep Sharma as Shah, Anuroop Pathania as Gara for the play Shah Shahni, Mousami Thakyal as Noori, Vijay Sharma as Boota for the play Fasley Aryaveer Singh as Shakuni, Dimpal Sharma as Bhishma and Seema Bhatti as Dassi for the play Komal Gandhar, Sars Bharti as Chintak-2 and Soham Kashyap as Kotwal for the play Ik Ha Gadha Urf Aladad Khan.
During the drama festival, held recently, fourteen plays in different languages were staged by the various theatre groups.
