Why "Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke passed on "Fifty Shades of Grey"

Emilia Clarke has no problems working with (CGI) dragons, but she passed on the Red Room of Pain.

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the "Game of Thrones" star explained why she turned down playing Anastasia Steele in the book-turned-box office hit "Fifty Shades of Grey."

"I'd done nudity before and was concerned with being labeled for doing it again," Clarke explained in the magazine's latest cover story.

The 28-year-old confirmed she did have two meetings with "Fifty Shades" director Sam Taylor-Johnson about the part, which ultimately went to Dakota Johnson.

"No regrets," she added of walking away from the role.

Clarke shot to fame playing Daenerys Targaryen on HBO's wildly popular "Game of Thrones," which is just a few weeks away from debuting its fifth season.

"Never in a million years did I think 'Game of Thrones' was going to take off like it did," she admitted in the interview. "It's taken me five years to catch up with it. I'm still not sure I'm there."

"Thrones" returns for season 5 on April 12. Clarke will also be seen this summer playing Sarah Connor in "Terminator Genisys," due out July 1.
