A draw against the world champions on their own patch is an excellent result, no matter how you look at it...and yet, I can't help but feel Australia could, and perhaps should have won that game.

Save for the last 15 minutes, the Socceroos were on top of the game - and on another day, Mathew Leckie may well have had a hat trick. As it was, he didn't score, and Australia didn't win.

There were several bright points - Milligan was excellent, Leckie, finishing aside, created all sorts of problems for the German defenders, and wide players like Troisi, Burns and the substitute Oar were lively throughout.
