Man dies as two-wheeler collides with wildboar

Chandrakant Sontakke, 34, died after a bike he was riding dashed against a wildboar who was crossing the Kundaim-Marcaim by-pass road on the night intervening Tuesday and Wednesday.The animal also died in the mishap.

PONDA: Chandrakant Sontakke, 34, died after a bike he was riding dashed against a wildboar who was crossing the Kundaim-Marcaim by-pass road on the night intervening Tuesday and Wednesday.
The animal also died in the mishap.
A passerby informed Ponda police on Wednesday morning that a person was lying dead on the road.
The deceased is a native of Parbhani in Maharashtra and was staying in a rented room at Khorlim-Tiswadi with his wife and children.
After duty at the industrial unit he was returning home by a motorcycle, police said.
Police handed over the body to his family on Wednesday afternoon after conducting an autopsy at the Goa Medical College (GMC) and hospital at Bambolim. A case of motor vehicle accident has been registered at the Ponda police station and PSI Ramchandra Naik is investigating the case. Police said that the exact time of the accident was not known. The police also said the road is rarely used by general people and thus there was no
eye witness.
