Pub dancer hangs self, husband booked

GURGAON: A 24-year-old pub dancer hung herself from the ceiling fan in DLF-III on Wednesday allegedly because of harassment by her husband. Police said a suicide note was found in her residence which hinted at harassment. Her family also claimed she was harassed, police said.
An FIR has been lodged against the husband for abetment to suicide. He is at large.Police said Chandni used to work as a dancer at a local pub and her husband Sanjit Dahiya worked as a bouncer at the same pub. They had met a year ago and got married in January. They were living in an apartment in U block of DLF-III. Chandi quit her job after marriage, but Sanjit's family had not approved of the alliance, due to which the couple started living separately.
On Wednesday afternoon, the caretaker of the apartment found Chandni hanging from the ceiling fan.
"An FIR has been lodged under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of IPC. A probe is on," said inspector Naveen Kumar, SHO, DLF-II police station.
