Anjuna local nabbed for illegal possession of LSD

PANAJI: The anti-narcotic cell (ANC) of the state police department arrested Anjuna resident Kalidas Naik for illegal possession of a narcotic substance worth 1.53 lakh on Wednesday.
An ANC officer said that they received a tip-off that Naik would be at Praiaswado, Anjuna, to strike a narcotic deal with a customer, and laid a trap accordingly. ANC sleuths arrested the accused, who was in illegal possession of 51 LSD papers worth 1.53 lakh, as soon as he arrived on the spot.
The officer said that in 2007 the accused was arrested in a similar case at Anjuna. The cell has been conducting regular raids and arresting Goans as well as natives of neighbouring states and foreign national for illegal possession of narcotic substance in the last few weeks.
