Holocaust survivor Henry A. Fribourg will speak at UT on Saturday, March 28.
His presentation, “Escape to Freedom: A Story of Survival, Dreams, Betrayals, and Accomplishments,” will begin at 3:45 p.m. in the Lindsay Young Auditorium of Hodges Library.
The event is free and open to the public.
Fribourg is professor emeritus of crop ecology in the UT Institute of Agriculture.
Saturday’s presentation is part of a workshop for teachers titled “Teaching Diversity through Content, Context, and Complexity of the Holocaust.” It is sponsored by the UT Department of Theory and Practice in Teacher Education in collaboration with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Educators will learn how to use museum resources in their classrooms.
The workshop coordinators are Deborah Wooten and Dorothy Hendricks, both professors in the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences.
