One held for murder, destroying evidence

Police arrested Surendra Mohan Verma on Wednesday, resident of Allahabad in connection with the murder case of Dayanand Yadav on March 14 from his rented flat in Gomtinagar extension where he lived along with his friend Faizul Huda.

LUCKNOW: Police arrested Surendra Mohan Verma on Wednesday, resident of Allahabad in connection with the murder case of Dayanand Yadav on March 14 from his rented flat in Gomtinagar extension where he lived along with his friend Faizul Huda.
Surendra Verma was arrested on charges of removing evidence from murder site. All accused are in property dealing business.
On March 14, Surendra organised a party at his flat and invited five other friends.
During the party, Gaurav Yadav, resident of Etawah asked Surendra to bring liquor from the market. All persons at the flat got under the influence of alcohol when Dayanand and Manpal got into a scuffle, after which the latter shot Dayanand with a revolver belonging to Guarav Yadav.
When blood spilled all over the floor the accused were afraid and hastily dumped the body at a lonely place late in the night. Escaping notice of neighbors they came to the flat and removed blood stains. All accused fled except Surendra.
Police on Wednesday arrested Surendra Yadav and recovered a bloodstained bedsheet and towel that from the flat. The samples collected were sent for forensic test.
SO Vibhuti Khand Nagendra Chaube said “Arrest of Surendra Verma is significant, as it helped us know the exact turn of events. One of the main accused Gaurav Yadav has a criminal past and has also a case under section 302 registered against him in Etawah. We will soon arrest the remaining accused.”
