Gx Glass to showcase bespoke interior glass at Clerkenwell Design Week

Gx Glass’ innovative approach to interior glass is being harnessed by leading architects Cousins & Cousins to help create a stunning glass pavilion at this year’s Clerkenwell Design Week.

Taking place between 19th and 21st May, Clerkenwell Design Week is the UK’s leading independent design festival and attracts the great and good of the international design community.

The pavilion, called ‘Glaze’, will be located on St John’s Square and draws on the heritage of Clerkenwell as a centre of design and manufacture.

‘Glaze’ will be constructed of multi-coloured glass panels made from a variety of products such as back painted and ceramic printed glass, giving visitors the opportunity to walk through a Murano glass inspired visual wonder.

Fully demountable and designed to be reusable, the installation highlights and celebrates the versatility of interior glass, the wide range of colours available and the scope of surface designs that makes glass an important medium through which designers and architects can realise their ideas.

Martin Lush, managing director at Gx Glass, said: “We are delighted to be involved in this project and look forward to showcasing our range of glass products to show the breadth of design possibilities for interior glass. The pavilion has been designed to offer an engaging and inspirational space for the duration of the event and we look forward to welcoming visitors to ‘Glaze’.”

Jelena Cousins, director of Cousins & Cousins said: “Cousins & Cousins is delighted to be working with Gx Glass’ amazing range to create a pavilion which will be showcased at Clerkenwell Design Week. Gx Glass has offered us the opportunity to create a magical, technicolour structure. ‘Glaze’ will show off the fantastic Gx product range, playing with the juxtaposition and shift of colour and light as you walk through it.”
