Girl ‘raped’ by landlord’s son

Kanpur: A 17-year girl was raped allegedly by the son of her landlord in Bithoor police area of the district on Monday. The incident comes only six days after two ‘dalit' sisters including a minor, were allegedly held captive in their house and gang-raped for three consecutive days by their neighbour and his two aides in Kanpur Dehat district.
The police have arrested the accused identified as Ankur Bajpayi (25) and sent him to jail after registering an FIR against him.“The accused was harassing the girl, a native of Rasoolabad area of Kanpur Dehat district, who was pursuing a degree course from a local college and was putting up as tenant in his house,” said the police.
“The girl was alone in the house as the two sisters of the accused had gone to the hospital to take care of their mother, who was not well. On finding the girl alone, the accused barged into the house and after threatening her with dire consequences raped her,” said a police official adding that the girl has been admitted to a hospital for medical.
The siblings of the accused, who were at the hospital, rushed back home on being informed by the locals of the area. The cops registered a case and recorded the statement of the girl and other eyewitnesses. According to the complaint filed by the girl, she was alone at home when the son of her landlord Ankur barged into her room and raped her. Thereafter, the girl was subjected to severe assault before being rescued by the locals. “We have arrested the accused. A case has been registered against him,” said CO Akhilesh Singh.
