There was a good roll-up of competitors considering the weather with Gibson leading from start to finish, taking out the title in a time of 13 minutes 34.63 seconds.
“I was pleased with the time.
“It was more than last year, but we all ran further than what we should have.”
Wes is a physical education teacher at La Salle Academy and he was joined in the run by wife Kellie who was just happy to finish the gruelling race in second place in her age group as Wes was to win it.
It was the second year in a row Wes had taken out the title and he will be looking for the hat-trick in 2016.
The first female to cross the line was Meg Reeves in the very good time of 16 minutes 20.45 seconds.
Meg was in good form beating a lot of her male competitors home to the finish line.
