Another Jay Z “illegitimate child” emerges, rapper is looking to settle out of court

Last month, a young man named Rymir Satterthwaite filed papers in court, asking for a judge to force rapper and music mogul Jay Z to submit to a paternity test. The 21-year-old, an aspiring rapper himself, claimed he was born after an affair Jay had with his mother Wanda, back in the day when he still lived in New Jersey.

In the same court documents, the alleged son claimed that Jay Z had known of his existence all along, since Wanda, the alleged ex-girlfriend, had attempted to take him to court before over unpaid alimony, only to be shut down every time.

A likely out of court settlement

According to the 21-year-old man, Jay had lied to the court on previous occasions, saying that he never lived in New Jersey, which meant that he couldn’t have possibly been around to conduct the affair that resulted in the illegitimate child.

He wanted to provide proof of the lie and thus convince the judge to get him to submit to a paternity test. According to his legal guardian, Lillie Collie, speaking to Radar Online, Jay Z is already feeling very insecure about winning the case.

In fact, he’s already in talks to settle this out of court.

“Ultimately the case will probably be settled out of court,” Collie says. “We’ve been going through this since 2011 and it has gotten to the point where the family just wants it to be over. Nobody wants this to drag out anymore.”

The family too is willing to settle out of court because they need the money for legal fees and because Rymir needs cash for some unspecified health issues. But Collie seems to go out of her way to make this sound as if Jay is afraid of what the paternity test would reveal, so he’s practically paying for all kind of trouble to go away.

Not the first, probably not the last

As it happens, Rymir isn’t Jay Z’s first “illegitimate child” to make headlines. The rapper, now married to singer Beyonce and father to a daughter named Blue Ivy, is believed to have fathered at least 2 other children out of wedlock, which he tried to get to “go away” by throwing money at them.

Rumor has it that he paid a woman named Shenelle Scott about $1 million (€908,818) in 2011 to keep his name off all documents pertaining to his then-13-year-old son, just so he could prevent the story from getting out in the media.

Jay is also believed to have fathered a child with a French woman, but no other details about how that came to happen are known.

In other words, Rymir is not the first and he will definitely not be the last to try and get money from the rapper on the grounds that they share blood ties.
