The new director of operations at Bristol city centre’s DoubleTree by Hilton hotel is Greg Csikos, who joins from Bristol City Centre Marriott.

Greg, pictured, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the four-star, 200-bedroom hotel in Redcliffe Way.

Originally from Budapest, Greg moved to the UK in 2006 having worked at the Marriott in the Hungarian capital. He spent a year at the 650-bedroom Renaissance Hotel at Heathrow, followed by a two-year stint at the Marriott’s Meon Valley Hotel and Country Club near Southampton.

Having spent a short holiday in Bristol, he liked the ambience of the city so much he decided to head West to work at the Bristol City Centre Marriott where he was most recently food and beverage manager.

Greg joins the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel ahead of an expansion of its conference and meeting facilities following a marked increase in bookings. Room occupancy rates at the hotel last year reached the mid-80% level.

The hotel is also set to benefit from this year’s Rugby World Cup, Bristol’s Shaun the Sheep trail and from the new Bristol Arena, which will open on a site near Temple Meads station in 2017.

Greg said: “It’s great to be part of a team and venue that has serious ambitions about its future. The hotel’s location is going to be key for visitors to the arena and those travelling in to Temple Meads.

“Meanwhile, we’ll look to consolidate our position as one of the leading four-star venues in Bristol and supporting Bristol’s reputation as a major player in terms of business and tourism.”
