Baleh dam awaits state govt approval


KUCHING: Sarawak Energy Bhd’s (SEB) social and environment impact assessment (SEIA) for the Baleh hydroelectric dam project has been approved by the Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB), paving the way for work to commence pending final approval from the state government.

Announcing this yesterday, chief executive Datuk Torstein Dale Sjotveit said SEB received the approval on March 13 and would now move forward with the next step of approval from the state Cabinet.
